Recovery does not start with a building. It starts the moment someone decides things need to change. At Ray Recovery, we meet people at that moment and walk with them through it. We are an outpatient addiction treatment center serving Akron, Canton, and the surrounding Northeast Ohio communities, with offices in Hudson and Uniontown. Our programs are built so you can get real clinical care while keeping your job, your home, and your connection to the people who matter to you.

A Different Kind of Addiction Treatment
A lot of treatment centers ask you to put your life on hold. We built ours around the opposite idea. Most people recover better when they stay connected to their daily routine and practice new skills in the same environment where they will actually use them.
That is why our care is outpatient and flexible. It is also why we treat the whole person, not just the substance. Addiction rarely shows up alone. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, and other mental health conditions are often part of the picture, and treating only one side tends to leave the other to pull someone back. We treat both at the same time, in the same place, with one coordinated team.
Conditions We Treat
Substance Use Treatment
We provide treatment for the substances that most commonly affect people across Ohio, with care plans matched to each one:
- Alcohol addiction treatment
- Cocaine addiction treatment
- Heroin addiction treatment
- Opioid addiction treatment
- Fentanyl addiction treatment
- Meth addiction treatment
- Prescription drug addiction treatment
- Benzo addiction treatment

Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis
When a mental health condition and a substance use disorder happen together, it is called a dual diagnosis, and it needs to be treated as one connected problem. Our dual diagnosis treatment addresses both at once. We also offer focused support for the conditions we see most often alongside addiction:

Our Outpatient Treatment Programs
Treatment is not one size. People come in at different points, so we offer several levels of care and move you between them as your needs change. Browse all of our addiction treatment programs, or read about each one below.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our partial hospitalization program in Akron is our most structured outpatient option. You spend a significant part of your day in treatment and go home in the evening. It works well as a first step for people who need steady support but do not require around-the-clock residential care.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The intensive outpatient program gives you several therapy sessions a week on a schedule that fits around work or school. It is a common next step after PHP and a strong starting point for people who have responsibilities they cannot step away from.
Virtual IOP
Virtual IOP brings the same group and individual therapy to you through a secure video connection. It serves people across Ohio who live too far from our offices to attend in person, or who simply need the flexibility of recovering from home.
Executive and Professional Programs
Our executive IOP and addiction treatment for professionals are designed for people whose careers make a standard schedule difficult. Treatment is arranged around your work commitments with privacy in mind.
Evidence-Based Therapies We Use
The programs are the structure. The therapy is where the change happens. Our clinical team uses approaches backed by research and matches them to what each person is working through:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- EMDR therapy
- Trauma therapy
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
See every approach we offer on our addiction therapy services page.
