Julie Stone is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health nurse practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in the medical field. She originally received her RN diploma from Aultman Hospital and then her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Akron and her Master’s of Nursing degree and Nurse Practitioner training from Kent State University in 2012.
Presently, Julie runs a mental health private practice along with continuing her passion to work with clients with substance use disorders at Ray Recovery, so they can have the best care provided to them, allowing them to reach their best versions of themselves. She has felt privileged that so many clients have trusted her to share their life experiences and been able to help them on their journey to mental wellness.
She also enjoys her role as an educator for up-and-coming Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners as she works as an Associate Professor at Regis College currently and served as adjunct faculty for The University of Cincinnati and Program Director for Walsh University. In the past, Julie has volunteered her time to organizations serving families effected by substance use disorders as this a passion for her. Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, her 2 dogs and adult children, traveling anywhere but especially to the beach, reading, yoga, walking, and being outside in nature.
“Life is like an ocean; it comes in waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim”.
